Indigo Girls Cancel Summerfest Show Due To Positive COVID Case
The folk duo was slated to perform Friday night but canceled after a member of their touring team tested positive. Guster will play instead.

MILWAUKEE, WI — Indigo Girls, the popular folk duo that was scheduled to appear at Summerfest on Friday night, has canceled the show due to a positive case of the coronavirus on its crew.
Indigo Girls announced the change of plans on social media on Wednesday and said that the person who tested positive was fully vaccinated.
“Despite every effort to follow strict CDC protocol, a fully vaccinated individual on the Indigo Girls touring team has tested positive for COVID-19,” the band said on Twitter.

The band, which is based out of Georgia and is made up of vocalists Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, said the show was canceled out of an abundance of caution. Indigo Girls has also postponed or canceled more upcoming shows as well due to the confirmed case.

Summerfest officials quickly replaced the show with the alternative band, Guster, which will appear at 8 p.m. on the Johnson Controls World Sound Stage.

Indigo Girls is the third Summerfest headline to cancel its performance due to a positive case of COVID-19. Pixies and Modern English recently canceled their tour plans out of a concern for rising coronavirus cases brought on by the delta variant.
