July 4th Fireworks Around Milwaukee: What Shows Are Re-Scheduled

After severe weather Monday evening shut down Independence Day fireworks shows across greater Milwaukee, several shows were rescheduled.

MILWAUKEE, WI — After a soggy July 4th led to numerous fireworks shows being canceled across the Milwaukee area, several shows have already been re-scheduled while other shows remain postponed.

Fireworks weren't the only thing that got rained out on Monday. Some cities announced festivals had to close early amid the threat of severe weather. Thunderstorms hung over much of Milwaukee into the evening.

Here's a list of fireworks shows that have already been re-scheduled:

City of Milwaukee Parks: Fireworks shows that were scheduled for July 4 across Milwaukee parks were postponed indefinitely, the Milwaukee Department of City Development announced Tuesday afternoon.

Shorewood: The fireworks show at Atwater Park is rescheduled for Saturday at 9 p.m., the village announced.

Whitefish Bay: The fireworks show at Klode Park is rescheduled for Tuesday, July 5 at 9:30 p.m.

Greendale: The fireworks show at Greendale High School is rescheduled for Saturday at dusk, Greendale Celebrations announced in a Facebook post.

Greenfield: The Greenfield fireworks show has been rescheduled for Friday at 9:45 p.m. The show will be held at Konkel Park, 5151 West Layton Avenue, according to a Facebook post from the city's parks and recreation department.


Here's a list of fireworks shows that were postponed or canceled with no make-up date:

Oak Creek: The city said it will make every attempt to reschedule the Lake Vista Park fireworks show to a different day this summer. A date has not been announced.

Glendale: The city has not announced if fireworks will be re-scheduled.

Franklin: The Civic Celebration fireworks were canceled and there will not be a re-schedule date, the Franklin Police Department said in a Facebook post.

Wauwatosa: The city's fireworks were postponed and a new date will be announced when decided, the city said in a Facebook post.
