Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputies Investigate Possible Shooting
After an anonymous caller tipped police off to shots being fired between two vehicles, no witnesses or victims have been located.
MILWAUKEE, WI — The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate a possible shooting that took place early Tuesday morning and that shut down a stretch of Interstate 94 for about an hour, police said.
The shooting reportedly took place at 12:39 a.m. when deputies responded to the scene on I-94 near the S. Hawley Street exit ramp where there were reports of shots being fired between two vehicles. An anonymous caller reported the tip to police but no witnesses or victims have been located at this time, the sheriff's department announced.
The freeway was closed for approximately an hour between 70th St. and 68th streets as deputies canvassed the area for details into the reported incident. Police said there is no video footage from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation available.
