As we all continue to navigate the constantly changing landscape of the pandemic, children and families may need support to cope with stress and uncertainty. MPS has staff and numerous resources to promote well-being and mental health.

As children prepare to go back to school in fall, many will experience normal excitement and nervousness about returning to class. But some children may feel anxiety or uncertainty about school or the pandemic. Families who observe stress or unusual behavior in their children should reach out to the district for advice and help.
MPS has a team of school counselors, school psychologists, and school social workers who are ready to assist families with a variety of needs. Contact your child’s school for confidential access to the supports they offer. If you observe changes in your child that concern you or if you have questions about your child’s growth or development, these teams are ready to help.
