Youth will learn mechanical skills and safe riding while exploring technology and engineering in a structured, affordable program that's been building opportunities for Milwaukee teens since 2019.

Museum on the move: An in-depth look at the Milwaukee Public Museum's transition to a new location (cbs58.com) — Milwaukee Public Museum is preparing to leave its aging Wells Street building for a new Nature and Culture Museum of Wisconsin opening in 2027, and staff are already packing more than four million county-owned items. Leaders explain why costly repairs, threatened collections, and evolving exhibits—like replacing Streets of Old Milwaukee with Milwaukee Revealed—are driving the move, while community groups push to preserve beloved dioramas and local history.
   

3. Milwaukee pizza shop temporarily closes after tree falls on roof during storms (cbs58.com) — A massive tree toppled onto Wy'east Pizza's roof during Tuesday night's Milwaukee storms, forcing the beloved Hawley and Vliet shop to close temporarily while owners assess extensive damage and costly tree removal. The brick oven appears intact, but the team is waiting on insurance and says they'll turn to the community via social media if they need help, grateful for the outpouring of support from loyal Milwaukee customers.
   

4. Milwaukee residents raise concerns over proposed 24-hour gas station at Holton and Burleigh (tmj4.com) — Neighbors in Milwaukee's Riverworks area are debating a proposal to reopen the long-vacant gas station at Holton and Burleigh as a 24-hour operation, with a license hearing set for Sept. 9. Supporters see fresh food, jobs, and investment, while nearby residents worry about noise, loitering, and safety, even as owners promise cameras, possible armed security, and flexibility on hours.
