One Dead, One Injured In I-43 Crash Late Saturday

MILWAUKEE COUNTY, WI — One person is dead and another has been seriously injured in a freeway crash on I-43/94 late Saturday evening.

The crash was reported just after 9 p.m. Saturday in the southbound lanes between Holt and Becher Street exits just north of General Mitchell International Airport.

There is no word from authorities on the exact nature of the crash, other than that it was between two vehicles. According to a WTMJ report, one person was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, and a second person was just and also transported to an area hospital as well. Milwaukee Fire Department officials stated that the person who was transported in critical condition later died.

The crash forced the closure of all southbound lanes of Interstate 43/94 at the Becher Street exit late Saturday.
