Expansion completed for largest solar energy project in Milwaukee history (cbs58.com) — Milwaukee has just completed its largest-ever solar energy project, tripling capacity at a former landfill site near Mitchell International Airport to power about 80 municipal buildings entirely with renewable energy. Fire stations, libraries, and police stations across the city will now run on solar power through We Energies' Renewable Pathway Program, supporting Milwaukee's goal to cut greenhouse gas emissions 40% by 2030.

Milwaukee organization helps people with disabilities build skills and regain confidence (tmj4.com) — A Milwaukee nonprofit, Accessible Career Options on North 92nd Street, is helping residents with disabilities build job skills and confidence to enter or rejoin the workforce. Through one-on-one training, job coaching, and employer partnerships, clients like Terrence Ray have overcome fear of technology, found work, and stayed connected to supportive staff, with many services available at no cost to qualifying Milwaukeeans.
   

3. Milwaukee bar 'The Garage' set to reopen after 'No-play list' controversy (wtmj.com) — A Brady Street bar in Milwaukee, The Garage, is set to reopen under new management in mid-October after closing amid backlash over a controversial "no-play list" that excluded Black artists and Milwaukee rappers. The current owner says the sale to another local bar owner was already underway, but the uproar sped up the deal, with rebranding and changes now in the works.
   

4. Milwaukee County Sheriff clarifies jail laptop, tablet policies (fox6now.com) — Milwaukee County's sheriff is clarifying that jail tablets and laptops run on a closed network, can't access the internet or make calls, and are funded by inmate and family fees, not taxpayers. Communication is tightly monitored, requires verified IDs, and privileges can be revoked for misuse, addressing concerns raised after allegations of threats made from inside the jail.
   

5. Milwaukee woman shoots ex-boyfriend during alleged break-in after months of stalking (wisn.com) — A Milwaukee woman shot her ex-boyfriend Thursday morning near 67th and Villard after police say he broke into her duplex despite a restraining order and prior domestic violence charges. Friends say she had endured months of stalking and threats, and investigators are now reviewing the case to determine whether the shooting was justified and what additional charges the man may face.
