While places like Hales Corners in Milwaukee County also saw strong gains, home values in the city of Milwaukee itself grew more modestly, highlighting a widening gap between the urban core and outlying suburbs.

Milwaukee police search for man after boy accidentally fatally shoots himself (wisn.com) — Milwaukee police are searching for 44-year-old Christopher Taper, wanted on felony child neglect charges after 11-year-old Samare Heard fatally shot himself with an unattended gun in a home near 60th and Thurston. Neighbors and family are grieving the loss, and authorities urge anyone who sees Taper to contact Milwaukee police immediately.

Milwaukee teachers receive free supplies at first-ever MPS Foundation drive (wisn.com) — Milwaukee Public Schools teachers just picked up free classroom supplies at the first-ever MPS Foundation drive, easing the hundreds of dollars many usually spend out of pocket. With strong community support and a drive-thru format, educators chose from essentials, cleaning items, and creative materials, and organizers say they're already planning to bring the event back next year.
