Poor Air Quality Alert Issued For SE Wisconsin

The poor air quality advisory affects people living in the counties of Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, and Sheboygan.

MILWAUKEE — The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has issued an Air Quality Advisory for ozone, effective Wednesday from noon until 11 p.m.

The poor air quality advisory affects people living in the counties of Kenosha, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, and Sheboygan.

"Due to weather conditions conducive to ozone production, the air quality index is expected to reach the 'unhealthy for sensitive groups' level," the National Weather Service said.

People with lung disease, such as asthma, children, older adults, and people who are active outdoors (including outdoor workers) are urged to avoid prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion.

The air quality is expected to rise back to the "yellow" level on Thursday and the "green" level on Friday.
