• Another Day Without Childcare (themonroetimes.com) — Local childcare providers and advocates gathered at Northeast Park in Monroe to spotlight a severe shortage of childcare slots and low wages for providers in Green County. Speakers, including Lt. Gov. Sara Rodriguez and several local officials, pressed for major state-level funding changes, warning that expiring aid in 2026 could force closures and strain Monroe’s hospitals, schools, and employers. 
• Grace Marie Treu (couleecremation.com) — Monroe residents are remembering Grace Marie Treu, who was born in Monroe in 1957 and passed away May 7 at age 68. Now living in Alma, she was devoted to her husband Dan, their children, and grandchildren, and cherished family traditions like deer season and holidays. A Celebration of Life is planned June 6 in La Crosse.
