Political Experience:
I was a legislative aide in the capitol for a state representative, where I researched legislation and guided bills into law. Locally, I've worked as a grassroots activist on Republican campaigns for over a decade.
Leading Issues:
As a Racine County resident, I believe the Foxconn development will have a huge impact on this area. Like most voters I've spoken with, I think this will benefit our area with job growth and expansion of related business and service industries, and increase demand for skilled and educated members of the workforce at all levels. I understand the concerns some have raised about the terms of the contract Wisconsin negotiated with Foxconn, but if both sides follow through, then everyone will win. My job will be to ensure that Racine County benefits as much as possible from this historic investment.
Educating our workforce is an important part of creating our future. When I was a substitute teacher, I saw that we needed to do a better job directing funding toward our students in the classroom. Preparing our children and displaced adult workers for the economy that will continue to evolve over time is crucial. I strongly believe in diverse educational and training opportunities, especially coordination with our technical colleges and university system, to meet the needs of all students and employers.
