Mount Pleasant National Night Out is this Tuesday, Aug. 2

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Say, got anything going on Tuesday night? Why not give National Night Out a try.

National Night Out is an initiative in which people in towns across the country gather at their homes, on their streets, and at their local community centers in recognition of their support of the community.

It helps strengthen the partnership between the community and police.

The festival will be held at the Lakeside COP house, 2237 Mead St. in Mount Pleasant from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2.

Community members will be serving a variety of food including bratwurst, hot dogs, chips, roasted corn and snacks.

The Racine Neighborhood Watch is hosting its second annual National Night Out in Mount Pleasant and has put together a full slate of fun childrens' activities and games.

The South Shore Fire Department and National Guard will be there as well to add to the fun.
