Kenosha's Reince Priebus Out As Trump Chief of Staff

President Trump announced on Twitter that Kenosha native Reince Priebus will no longer be the White House Chief of Staff.

KENOSHA, WI — President Trump announced on Twitter — of all places — late Friday afternoon that Kenosha native Reince Priebus will no longer be White House chief of staff.

Current Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly will be taking over the role.

The move comes a day after new White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci unleashed an extended tirade of vulgar insults and threats against his new colleagues in the White House, including Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, implying that he had evidence against him and other leakers and that felony criminal charges may be in the offing.

“Reince is a f------ paranoid schizophrenic, a paranoiac,” Scaramucci said of the chief of staff.

That quote was from a July 27 interview between Scaramucci and Ryan Lizza, a Washington correspondent from the New Yorker. In that interview, Scaramucci becomes increasingly "worked up" about White House leaks and goes out of his way to exhibit to Lizza, the feud going on between he and Priebus.

Priebus previously served as the Republican National Committee chairman, RNC general counsel, and chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin.

Strong Wisconsin Ties

Priebus spent most of his childhood in Wisconsin, moving to Green Bay when he was seven, and later moving to Kenosha, Wis. where he graduated from Tremper High School.

He went on to graduate from UW-Whitewater in 1994 before serving as a clerk for the Wisconsin State Assembly Education Committee out of college.

In 2007 he was elected Chairman of the Wisconsin Republican Party and in 2009 became the general counsel for the Republican National Committee.

In early 2011, Priebus was elected to the RNC chair.

In November 2016, he was announced as President Donald Trump's Chief of Staff, a role he held until July 28, 2017.
