Racine Symphony Orchestra Presents - October Masterworks Concert

Can you “handel” this concert? Help us continue to commemorate our 85th Season with appropriate celebratory music. This kick-off concert for our Masterworks season includes Handel’s Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, Purcell’s The Fairy Queen, Suite #1 and Haydn’s Queen Symphony (La Reine) #85. This season’s Artist-in-Residence, RSO harpist Kelsey Molinari, will also perform Handel’s Harp Concerto in B flat Major Op. 4, No. 6. alongside the Orchestra.

Borzynski's Corn Maze - 2016

Test your skill - and have some great, fall fun in Borzynski's 8-acre corn maze. This challenging maze themed "The USA" has approximately 10,000 feet of paths. Open to the public Fridays and Saturdays 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sundays 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Open to pre-scheduled groups (20 or more) Monday through Friday. Call for reservations: 262-886-2235.

Over Our Head Players presents "Theatre/Schmeatre"
Sixth Street Theatre
Over Our Head Players opens its 25th season with "Theatre/Schmeatre", an evening of original (and VERY funny) sketch comedy. These short, original scripted comedies follow the tradition of Second City with lots of silliness and satire. Rated PG-13. The Players will be joined during the run by Racine's finest musicians.
Show times are 7 and 9 p.m. Fridays; 5:30 and 8 p.m. Saturdays at the Sixth Street Theatre, 318 Sixith St. Tickets at 262-632-6802. "Theatre/Schmeatre" runs Sept. 16 through Oct. 1.

Half Point Historical Re-enactment
Racine County Fairgrounds
Step back into history at the 11th Annual Half Point Historical Re-enactment at the Racine County Fairgrounds, 19805 Durand Ave., Union Grove. This family friendly fun and educational event features many living history demonstrations spanning several centuries.
See and talk with Civil War and World War II soldiers, wood carvers and early settlers. Watch how sauerkraut is made and expereince a Civil War cannon firing and tour Native American living quarters. Cold War-era "Checkpoint Charlie" is portrayed at the entrance. New this year are the Scottish Border Reivers.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Enter through Gate 6. Free admission and parking (courtesy of the Union Grove Lions Club and Union Grove Kiwanis). Donations welcome.
