Vos Says Wisconsin Guard Troop Withdrawal 'Political Ideology'
Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers ordered 110 Wisconsin National Guard troops to be withdrawn from Arizona's southern border.

MOUNT PLEASANT, WI — Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers issued an executive order Monday, stating that more than 110 Wisconsin National Guard troops will be withdrawn from Arizona’s southern border. In his explanation, Evers said there's“no justification” for stationing National Guard troops at the U.S.-Mexico border.
Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester), one of Wisconsin's top Republican lawmakers, released the following statement about Governor Evers’ decision to withdraw the Wisconsin National Guard assisting at the Southwest border.
“Governor Evers’ decision is more about political ideology than anything else. The troop withdrawal doesn’t save any Wisconsin taxpayer dollars. The operation is federally funded. It’s yet another example of how our governor is catering to his Dane County liberal base and refusing to do what’s best for our state and in this case, the entire nation.”

There is simply not ample evidence to support the president’s contention of a national security crisis at our southwestern border. Therefore, there is no justification for the ongoing presence of Wisconsin National Guard personnel at the border. https://t.co/ggPNa10zWW
