Update: WE Energies Outage Corrected for Mount Pleasant Residents
The utility company said a relay switch at a substation is the culprit.

Update, 6 pm: A relay switch at a sub-station seems to be the cause of a short electricity outage for about 1,000 WE Energies customers in Mount Pleasant. Brian Manthey from the utility said customers were affected for about 10 minutes.
"We were able to isolate the issue and correct it quickly," he said.
A Patch reader in the Rollingfields Subdivision confirmed she was without power from 5:15 to about 5:22 pm.

Original Story: The WE Energies outage map at 5:45 pm on Nov. 16 is indicating more than 1,000 people in have no electricity.
Brian Manthey, spokesperson for WE Energies, said he would get back to Patch about why power is out and how long customers should expect to be in the dark.
