Governor Walker and the Republican majority were elected with a mandate to put our state’s fiscal house in order. Governor Walker’s modest proposed reforms must be enacted soon, with or without the Democratic minority’s help. This proposal is one step out of the ditch that the previous administration helped dig our state into. For the very same legislators who also helped dig that ditch to now impede common sense budget reforms in the name of ‘democracy’ is laughable.
We elect legislators to represent us in Madison, not in Illinois. It’s time for the Senate Democrats to come back to the Capitol and do their jobs.
