Board Preview: Road Project on Durham Takes Up the Discussion

A full evening of meetings includes Durham Drive, the Waterbugs and sewer improvements for approval.

Finance, Committee of the Whole and Common Council all convene tomorrow at City Hall, beginning at 5:45 p.m.  In addition, a public hearing on Durham Drive sewer costs, which will impact residents' special assessments, will be featured during the Common Council meeting.

Here is a summary of the major agenda items:

Durham Drive construction costs will be reviewed by the finance committee, and if approved, forwarded to the Common Council.  This includes the award of the bid for the project as well as the construction management services to oversee it.  The public hearing involves the sewer construction along the road, for which estimates have come in high.  By ordinance, a public hearing needs to be held as this can impact the dollars assigned to residents for their portion of the project's costs.

Two vehicles recommended by the Public Works Committee, a vacuum truck and plow, will be up for approval as well by the Common Council.
