Breaking News: Muskego Common Council Votes On Ward Boundary Plan
Option selected reflected input of Committee of the Whole

The Common Council met Tuesday evening and selected an option for redistricting, which impacts the ward boundaries in the city, specifically those around Little Muskego Lake.
A vote on amending the original proposal to option B passed on a 4-3 vote, with Seventh District Alderman Noah Fiedler, Sixth District Alderman Neome Schaumberg and Fourth District Alderman Keith Werner opposing.
Of the three presented, the first, or A, was the original map created by staff and provided the least deviation among districts. Map B reflected the input of the Committee of the Whole and provided three aldermanic districts for Little Muskego Lake, although Mayor Kathy Chiaverotti clarified that the original map did provide similar representation for lake district residents. (The lake district includes residents not directly on the lake.)

Option C was based on recommendations by Alderman Kert Harenda and according to IT Director John Wisniewski needed to be revised slightly and involved the addition of three wards.
