Cheers (and a Check) to Muskego

Residents who 'cheered' in Reader's Digest contest garner the city $1,000.

The City of Muskego was visited by a colorfully appointed RV Monday morning, bearing a check to the city for $1,000.  Not a bad start to the week.

The visit came as a result of a winning entry by Muskego resident who 'cheered' for Muskego in the Readers Digest "We Hear You America" contest.  Gregory Kluck indicated the need for better sports facilities for girls' sports at Muskego High School in his comment:

"Muskego needs to have better playing facilities for our girls leagues at Muskego High. The boy's football team gets all the money and everyone else is left to have rummage sales and other fund raisers to get money. Money was set aside for the girl's baseball diamond and practice area, but the school board gave it to the football program."

Readers Digest representatives were on hand to deliver the check, which Mayor John Johnson said will be put toward an effort to improve such facilities, but at this time would act as seed money for a project.

"It's too early to say what this will end up becoming," Johnson said.
