Durham Drive Construction Update
Work slowly shifting to the grading of the road, and traffic access has changed for certain businesses and homes along the Muskego road to the lake.

Initially launched on April 25, the Durham Drive road construction project has passed a few marks in its progress. Access to Schultz Drive homes and businesses has switched from the north to the south on Tuesday, July 5th, around mid-morning. This means that the Lakeview boat launch can be reached by detouring down McShane Drive, south on North Cape Road and West on Hi View Drive
Sanitary sewer contractors have been working on sanitary sewer laterals, and residents in that area are requested to have their lateral location stake placed in a visible location.
However, planners urge people to be aware of those things that haven't changed since the project began.
"Even in areas where the sewer has been installed there are dewatering well casings sticking out from the ground. These are heavy, steel casings and will not yield to your vehicle," a statement on the project website stressed. "Traffic barrels have been set by each casing, but be aware that the wells are there."
In addition local traffic that is allowed to use the road needs to observe the temporary speed limit of no more than 10 MPH.
Durham Drive also remains closed to ”Local Traffic Only” for the duration of the project. ”Local Traffic Only” means those residents who live on Durham or on a side street off of Durham with no other outlet or access. The businesses on Schultz Lane and their patrons, visitors to the Big Muskego Lake boat launch, and Belle Chasse subdivision model home visitors are considered local traffic.
