Jimmy Johns: A Fresh Face in the Neighborhood

Looking for fast and fresh for lunch or dinner today? The city's newest restaurant provides fresh sandwiches and catering for dining.

Just shy of four weeks in business, the co-owners of Jimmy Johns Gourmet Sandwiches are not shy of enthusiasm for the business or the product.

Just 32 and 27 years old, respectively, brothers Jay and Andy Meinen say they decided to open the restaurant in part because the construction industry "was just awful" but also because of the product.

"You just need to taste the sandwiches to know why we're here," Andy explained.  "Everything we make is very fresh, and the taste is fantastic."

The "subs so fast  you'll freak" are available for dine in, delivery or carryout, and the menu also can be catered for a larger group.  Prices are about comparable with other chains, with 8" subs starting at $4.59 and larger sandwiches at $5.59.

While we opted for carry out, the interior of the restaurant has a distinctly urban feel with exposed brick walls and minimal lighting that's fun to dine in.  Patrons can try Jimmy John's seven days a week from 11am to 10pm.
