Lazich Recall Petitions will be Available at Polls on Tuesday
Recall supporters cite a 2008 ruling that allows them to be present at polling places.

Muskego voters will likely see volunteers who are collecting signatures for recall petitions when they arrive at the polls on Tuesday. Mary Lazich(R) is the State Senator in the 28th district petitioners are aimed at recalling.
In a statement released on March 30, spokesperson Elizabeth Galewski said, "Tuesday's election provides us with an excellent opportunity to touch base with the district's voters. We're headed toward crunch time. There are just a few weeks to go before the petitions must be filed, and our volunteers are committed to completing the effort as quickly as possible."
The group also hoped to avoid any trouble or confusion at the polls by citing that the state Elections Board permits the collecting signatures for recalls outside of polling places as long as it doesn't relate to the items on the ballot inside.
In addition, the Government Accountability Board concluded in 2008 that "circulating a petition within 100 feet of the entrance to a polling place, per se, would NOT constitute a violation of (State Statutes)."
Recall volunteers will be available at all polling places in Muskego from 7-9am and from 4-8pm. Additional volunteers are being sought to fill in the midday slots.
