Meeting Preview: Big Muskego District and Common Council

Lake District to report before council Tuesday night at City Hall

Looking ahead to this week's meetings at City Hall, Tuesday will feature a meeting of the Big Muskego Lake/Bass Bay Protection and Rehabilitation District at 6:45 p.m..   On their docket is current conditions of the lake, including water levels.

A recent draw down in spring to promote bog growth will likely be discussed to gauge its success thus far. The district had drawn down the lake levels by 12 inches, and in June was in the process of slowly raising them again.  The hope was to 'anchor' the bogs by allowing them to root, thus avoiding them to float and potentially clog inlets and channels.

Directly after the lake district meeting, Common Council will convene at 7:00 p.m. to conduct their business. What we'll be listening in on in particular is the approval for a new agreement between the City and the School District to use each other's facilities.  Participants in the Parks and Rec programs often use school facilities, and these agreements make that possible.
