Meeting Preview: COW Continues Budget Review; Full Plate for Council
Budget discussions and a flurry of approvals for everything from water rate increases to Jammin' on Janesville funding are featured on the Tuesday night agendas.

Tuesday night meetings at begin at 5pm, with Finance Committee, followed by Committee of the Whole at 5:30 pm and Common Council at 7pm.
Finance Committee meets first in the Alderman's room on the first floor of City Hall. The committee will discuss recommendations coming from the CDA for Tess Corners Drive improvements as well as funding for a marketing plan and analysis for the city.
In addition, a residential grant program to help homeowners along Janesville Road to improve their homes will also be discussed for recommendation.

These items will be forwarded to Common Council if approved, along with a recommendation for funding the 2012 Jammin' on Janesville events. This past year's events were funded in part by Community Development Block Grant funds, but those are not available in 2012. The city is considering instead using TIF residual funds or funds in the TID district #8, which is where events on Janesville have taken place.
Committee of the Whole will gather again to continue its review of the 2012 Budget in the Alderman's room. The previous meeting covered such capital expenses as Pioneer Drive reconstruction, and additional road projects, presenting the largest portion of the budget are still forthcoming.

Common Council convenes at 7pm in the lower level Muskego room. Along with Finance Committee recommendations received from their 5pm meeting, the council will discuss for approval the following items:
- A water utility rate increase, effective on the first 2012 quarterly bill
- Funding for a marketing study and analysis on the City of Muskego
- Approval of a grant to help Young's Auto body build a new facility directly behind its current one on Janesville Road
- Approval of a resolution of necessity in purchasing the Dilworth, Cherek and Gardetto properties. With a recommendation to pursue the purchase coming from the Parks department on September 12, the council will consider acquiring the land for the purpose of a public park. The resolution does also state that the city would not consider condemnation procedures in order to acquire the land if a purchase agreement can't be reached.
The council will also hear a first reading of the ordinance establishing new aldermanic boundaries, which will impact election polling stations in the first elections of 2012.
