Muskego meeting Preview: Schools, Parks, Conservation, Common Council
Agendas for various government meetings touch on topics in your neighborhood.

Muskego Patch is often asked, "Who decided to do this?" or "When did this happen?" when something happens in city government. The answer is usually in the many meetings that take place at City Hall or the Educational Services Center for Muskego-Norway Schools.
Below is an overview of the meetings for Monday and Tuesday. All except the School Board Meeting take place at City Hall. Also provided are links to the meeting agendae, which are always posted on the City's website. All meetings are open to the public, unless an agenda item is part of a closed session.
Monday, May 9

Parks and Recreation - 5:30 p.m. A 5K Charity Run along the Highway 36 trail will be discussed, as well as reported vandalism at boat launches and at Denoon Park, improvements being made to Kurth Park, and information on a goose round-up.
School Board, beginning at 6:15 p.m. with Educational Services Committee. Business Services/Human Resources follows at 6:30, and newly elected board members will take the oath of office at 7:10. Reorganization of the board is directly after, with nominations and elections of clerk, treasurer, vice president and president among them.

Current proposals for budget balancing, teacher layoffs and construction service projects will also be discussed, along with textbook and materials recommendations.
Conservation Committee - 7:00 p.m. Projects involving the Engel Conservation Area and the restoration of City-owned lands in Bass Bay tributary will be part of the agenda. In addition, the conversion of park turf to prairie at the proposed Park Arthur site will be on the agenda, as will an erosion control project on Holz Island on Little Muskego Lake. The Committee will also continue its discussion of acquisition of 108.5 acres of Borst property, near the intersection of Field Drive and Hillendale Drive.
Tuesday, May 10
Common Council - 7 p.m. The Council will be voting on an approval of and agreement between the City of Muskego and Water Bugs Ski Team, Inc. for placement of a water ski jump on Little Muskego Lake. This was previously brought to council, but questions on the jumps placement sent the issue back to Public Safety Committee.
The council will also hear a resolution to support the intent to amend the 1999 agreement between the City of Muskego and Tess Corners Volunteer Fire Department regarding its scholarship fund.
Additional permits and licenses will be reviewed and voted on during this meeting.
