Muskego Finance, Council Approve New Front Doors on City Hall
Sliding doors have had their share of problems so City opts to replace them.
The main entrance to City Hall will soon feature new sliding doors at a cost of about $10,000.
The Finance Committee discussed a proposal to replace the front doors at the main entrance of City Hall Tuesday night, with the Common Council unanimously approving.
A letter from George Wolwark, who is an employee with the City's Department of Public Works working on maintenance, explained that since retrofitted timers were installed in 2010, more than 15 service calls were made to fix the timer and locking devices. As of July 15, the City was informed that replacement parts needed for repairs were no longer available.

Prior to 2010, a part-time worker was paid to come and lock the doors every night. When the position was de-funded in 2010, Mayor John Johnson had requested a contract with Wisconsin Automatic Door to add the timers.
The City will incur additional costs internally for staff to complete improvements and replace brickwork that will need to be removed during installation.
