Muskego May Host 5K Run

Although withdrawn for this year, interest in using fitness trail for benefit run may resurface by next spring.

The Muskego Parks and Recreation board had received an inquiry from Oak Creek Ducks Unlimited to use the Highway 36 recreational trail for a 5K Charity Run earlier this year.  While the group has decided to hold off on the event for this year, the board has taken the idea as an opportunity to be prepared for such an event on any of the trails in the city.

Parks Director Craig Anderson shared with the board that he had received a communication from the Oak Creek Ducks Unlimited that they would not have enough time to plan the 5-K event this spring, citing the short time frame, however they will plan on it for next spring.

Craig recommended that the Board discuss this issue in September to address issues such as the costs, rules and policies in using the recreation trail for the event, and perhaps other similar events that might follow.
