Official Notice: Little Muskego to be Treated

NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR AQUATIC PLANT MANAGEMENT PERMIT

The Little Muskego Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District intends to apply for a Permit from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to treat up to 160 acres of water in Little Muskego Lake with the aquatic pesticides to control algae and/or aquatic plants.  The proposed treatment would occur between May 12 and September 30, 2011.

The Little Muskego Lake Protection and Rehabilitation district will conduct a public informational meeting on the proposed treatment if five or more individuals, organizations, special units of government, or local units of government request one.

The meeting would give interested parties a chance to learn more about the proposed treatment from the permit applicant.  The Little Muskego Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District is not requited to, but may, change the proposed treatment based on information provided by citizens attending the meeting.

Any request for a public meeting on this proposed treatment must be made within five (5) days after this notice is published. The request must specify the topics to be discussed at the meeting, including the problems and alternatives, and must be sent in writing to Little Muskego Lake Protection and Rehabilitation District, P.O. Box 749, Muskego, WI  53150-0749 and to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, 141 NW Barstow, Rm 180, Waukesha, WI  53188.

This is required by Chapter NR107, Wisconsin Administrative Code
