“By failing to show up for work for a second day, Democrats have shown a true lack of regard for Wisconsin taxpayers, the institution of state government and their fellow elected officials. Running away to Illinois is not only childish, it's also an affront to the will of the people.
“I urge my colleagues to forgo any more free continental breakfasts and to return to Madison where Republicans stand ready to tackle the serious issues facing this state in an adult manner.”

On her website, Lazich also states her support for Walker's bill:
“The measures proposed in the Budget Adjustment Bill are significant, and the challenges facing our state are significant. Wisconsin is in a state of economic peril. Decisive action must be taken.
“I do not like having to ask more of Wisconsin workers. Faced with a decision between the significant changes proposed or laying off thousands of workers during the next two years, I will fight to keep people employed.
“We are at a critical moment in the history of this state. We must act to get our financial house in order before insurmountable debt cripples this state’s future. A dose of bitter medicine now will prevent a terminal disease from ravaging our future.”
