Work on Park Arthur Faces a Slight Delay

Muskego Parks and Recreation Director says retention pond construction is delayed by more than three weeks, but overall feels progress is being made.

At last night's meeting of the city's Parks and Recreation Board, Department Director Craig Anderson gave a couple of quick updates regarding the Park Arthur development project.

The expected completion date for Park Arthur's retention pond has been delayed by three and a half weeks and is now anticipated to be finished by the end of July or early August. Once the pond is completed, the rest of the grading will go pretty fast, Anderson said.

The park will feature a mix of open agricultural land, and areas of woodlands and wetlands within a second environmental corridor. A boardwalk/trail system will be constructed through the wetlands and woodland area.

In winter, a hockey/ice skating rink, shelter with indoor bathrooms and sledding hill will provide recreation opportunities.  Along with the baseball fields, soccer fields will be constructed as well as a small tot-lot playground.
