• Former school building to become learning center (finance-commerce.com) — A former Neenah school is getting a new life as the Fox Valley Community Learning Center, a multicultural hub planned for classes, arts programs, and community events in the old Shattuck Middle School. Founders Colleen Bies and Fanni Xie are upgrading classrooms, preserving existing tenants, and using the project to anchor efforts like reviving the N.E.W. Dragon Boat Festival in the Fox Valley.

• Fox River Navigational System Authority approves agreement with DNR on Menasha Lock (wtaq.com) — Boaters and river users near Neenah should know the Fox River Navigational System Authority just approved a deal with the DNR to keep treating the Menasha Lock with rotenone while commercial boats pass, aiming to contain invasive round goby found below the Neenah Dam. The agreement runs through Nov. 1, 2026 and could shape when, and how, the lock eventually reopens to more traffic.

• Wisconsin fire departments awarded $38M from yearly fire dues program (fox11online.com) — Wisconsin is sending more than $38 million in annual fire dues to departments statewide, including Neenah‑Menasha Fire Rescue. The money, funded by a 2% insurance premium fee, helps local crews upgrade equipment and strengthen emergency response, with this year’s distribution up 6% over 2025.
