• Softball Recap: New Holstein Takes Down Southern Door in a Playoff Battle (maxpreps.com) — New Holstein softball fans have plenty to cheer about after the Huskies crushed Southern Door 14-4 in Tuesday’s playoff matchup, powered by big games from Jaci and Jenna Horn. The win continues New Holstein’s hot streak and sets up a key showdown against Wittenberg-Birnamwood on Thursday, where the Huskies will have to contain another high-scoring offense.
   

• Fatal crash case dismissed after defendant's death (nbc26.com) — Two New Holstein residents, Ronald and Nancy Woelfel, were killed in a 2025 drunk-driving crash on Highway 57, and the homicide case against the other driver has now been dismissed after her death. Calumet County records show the Chilton woman accused of causing the crash died May 27, leading a judge to close the case Monday. Details from witnesses and investigators underscore the severe intoxication alleged in the collision.
