T-Shirt Texts Not Affiliated With Fire Department: Police
The New Berlin Police Department said a text message claiming to sell t-shirts does not actually benefit the New Berlin Fire Department
NEW BERLIN, WI — If you recently received a text message that claimed to be selling "limited edition" New Berlin Fire Department t-shirts, odds are it may be a scam, according to the New Berlin Police Department.
The text messages are not affiliated with the New Berlin Fire Department, the police department posted to Facebook. The department is not selling any t-shirts, and it is not benefitting from the t-shirt sales advertised in the text message, the post said.
People may have received a text that reads "Trenddytee Store: New Berlin Fire Department Tshirt (Limited edition)." A link is attached to the text.

The possible scam is very similar to one that took place in Oak Creek recently. Authorities in Oak Creek informed the public in November the text was not from the Oak Creek Fire Department.
