Dog Days At Drexel Is This Friday And Saturday: Oak Creek

OAK CREEK, WI — Dog Days at Drexel is returning to Drexel Town Square this year with a full lineup of events for canines and humans alike. The event will host a dog bounce house, food, numerous vendors and live music, according to the City of Oak Creek website.

Dog Days will bring around 50 vendors to Drexel Town Square, most of them dog related. The event will also feature Pier Pups canine dock jumping, the City of Oak Creek website said.

"Does your dog love to swim and chase a toy into water? If so, sign up for Pier Pups Dock Diving," Oak Creek said on its website.

Pier Pups started out as a company that toured for police dog shows, according to its website. The company has since branched out to events such as Dog Days at Drexel. Pier Pups will set up a large pool and pier for the canine sporting event where trainers and owners help their dogs jump into the pool, the Pier Pups website said.

To be included in the pier jump event, dogs must be able to swim and they must have a toy drive. A pier jump training session is planned for 4:30-7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Alongside the many dog events, some activities have been planned for humans. Caricature drawing, face painting and a large mural to color will be featured at Dog Days at Drexel.

Dog Days at Drexel will occur 4-9 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, located at Drexel Town Square in Oak Creek.
