Two officers of the Oak Creek Police Department sustained minor injuries when the subject of a welfare check fled the scene, OC police said.

OAK CREEK, WI — Two officers of the Oak Creek Police Department sustained minor injuries on Saturday after the subject of a welfare check refused to exit their vehicle and drove their car in reverse, striking the officers with their open door, the department said in a news release.
Police were called out to 8000 South 6th Street around 5:30 a.m. for a welfare check on someone who was passed out behind the wheel, but when officers arrived, the person was not cooperative, according to the news release.
The person then hit a parked car and fled the scene, police said. Officers chased the vehicle but because of its excessive speeds, the pursuit was ended. The vehicle was later found in The City of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Police Department took the person into custody, according to the Oak Creek news release.
