Man Charged In Connection With Repeated Theft From Oak Creek Shop

A South Milwaukee man was accused of stealing a breast pump worth almost $500, among other items, over the span of months, a complaint says.

OAK CREEK, WI — A South Milwaukee man was charged in connection with several reports of retail theft that occurred at two stores in Oak Creek between August and December of 2021. According to a criminal complaint, the thefts amounted to thousands of dollars worth of missing merchandise.

Andrew G. Gbur, 35, was charged in Milwaukee County Court on Feb. 18 with three counts of misdemeanor retail theft-intentionally take and one count of felony retail theft-intentionally take, online court records show.

If convicted, Gbur could face up to $40,000 in fines and up to five years and eight months in prison.

According to the criminal complaint, employees of the TJ Maxx at 8571 South Howell Avenue in Oak Creek told police Gbur had taken merchandise from the store on several occasions in late 2021. The complaint alleges he also took merchandise from the Target at 8989 South Howell Avenue on one occasion in December.

The complaint details six different occasions where Gbur is accused of taking merchandise. The total retail value of the assorted items adds up to about $2,700, the complaint shows.

At the TJMaxx, Gbur was accused of taking multiple handbags and purses on separate occasions, and on one occasion, he was accused of taking three vacuum cleaners at one time, the criminal complaint said.

He is also accused of taking a breast pump worth almost $500 from the Target location, the complaint said.
