Memorial Day 2018: Oak Creek Closings, Trash Pickup

OAK CREEK, WI — Across the United States, people will be celebrating Memorial Day on Monday, a national holiday to honor those who died in active military service.

Although it's a national holiday, most retail businesses around the village will be open. But it's always idea to call ahead and check.

Here's a look at how Memorial Day will affect institutions and services around Oak Creek:

Village Government: Village Hall and village offices will be closed. Federal, state and county offices also will be closed.

Schools: No classes for the Oak Creek-Franklin School District

Oak Creek Public Library: The library will be closed.n

Postal Service: No mail delivery, and all post offices will be closed.

Trash Pickup: When there is a holiday within the week, Advanced Disposal will pick up one day later than normal for the holiday week only. This one day delay will occur beginning the day after the holiday. The regular schedule will then resume the next week. Reminder signs will no longer be placed street side.
