Men Try To Steal Safe And Cash From Oak Creek Hotel: Police Log
The men told the front desk there was a woman walking around in her underwear upstairs to create a diversion, Oak Creek police logs say.

OAK CREEK, WI — Two men attempted to break into the cash register and safe at the front desk of a hotel on 6300 13th Street around 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, according to Oak Creek Police Department call logs.
The men created a diversion by telling the front desk worker there was a woman walking around in her underwear on the second floor, the hotel worker told police. The worker went upstairs to check for the supposed lady, and the men attempted to break into the hotel's safe and cash register when he was gone, the employee said, according to logs.
When the front desk employee returned he managed to chase the two men away. The employee last saw the men running down 13th Street and said no weapons were shown during the burglary, logs say.

When police arrived near the hotel, they saw an SUV or minivan turn onto West College Avenue from 13th Street. The SUV began driving erratically, cutting across all three lanes. The suspect vehicle then turned onto north Interstate 94, according to logs.
A police officer had attempted at first to chase the vehicle, but because they were driving an unmarked police car, and considering the traffic and speed, they dropped the pursuit. The officer let Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office know where the vehicle was headed, according to logs.
