Police in Oak Creek have identified the man who died in a July 18 auto accident — the second fatal accident in a week.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police in Oak Creek have identified the man who died in a July 18 auto accident, saying that he was waiting for pedestrians to cross the road when he was struck by a driver from behind.
According to Oak Creek police call logs, a 911 caller contacted police after witnessing an accident on the 9600 block of S. Howell Ave. The witness told police one person was unconscious and was "upside-down inside his vehicle."

Investigators say the driver of a Dodge was heading south and was behind the driver of a Ford in the southbound lanes. Investigators say the driver of the Dodge attempted to change lanes, and ended up striking the Subaru that was waiting for pedestrians.
Police said the Subaru suffered severe rear-end damage and that its driver, Thomas J. Stehling of Cudahy, died as a result of the crash.
