Racine Firefighter's Death Investigated As Homicide

The 50-year-old, 21-year veteran was found not breathing at a Pinehurst Avenue home just before noon on Sunday, cops say.

RACINE, WI — The death of a 21-year-veteran of the Racine Fire Department who was found not breathing on Sunday is being probed as a homicide, police said Monday.

The identity of the 50-year-old man has not been released, neither has any information about a possible cause of death or potential suspects, The Journal Times reported.

Police responded to a home on Pinehurst Avenue just before noon on Sunday "in reference to a male not breathing," according to a statement on Monday.

Police are urging anyone with information about the man's death to call the Investigations Unit at 262-635-7756, or Crime Stoppers, a confidential police hotline to submit anonymous tips, at 262-636-9330 or via the p3 app.
