Oshkosh Police Department searching for 26-year-old woman after an abrupt disappearance (wearegreenbay.com) — Oshkosh police are asking residents to help locate 26-year-old Daniella “Michelle” Zarate, who left her North Koeller Street home abruptly on Sept. 26 without her phone or identification. She may be driving a gray 2008 Honda Civic with Wisconsin plate BEF1806 and a “Baby on Board” sticker, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Oshkosh Police Department.
   

2. Free Oshkosh senior expo features Martin Schreiber keynote Oct. 6 (thenorthwestern.com) — Oshkosh seniors and caregivers can hear former Gov. Martin Schreiber speak about Alzheimer’s caregiving at the free Time of Your Life Senior Expo on Oct. 6 at the Oshkosh Convention Center. Running 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the 10th‑anniversary expo features Schreiber’s noon keynote plus vendors and resources focused on aging, dementia support, and healthy living.

Modest gains: About half of Wisconsin students meet state test standards in reading, math (fox11online.com) — New statewide test results show Oshkosh students scoring 46.8% proficient or higher in English Language Arts, just below Wisconsin’s 53% average but improving from last year. The data, part of a broader look at reading and math scores, highlights modest gains and persistent racial gaps as state officials prepare new literacy and math plans.
   

4. Winnebago County sets 4 town halls for 2027 budget (thenorthwestern.com) — Winnebago County residents, including those in Oshkosh, will have four October town halls to question officials about the proposed 2027 budget and recent tax levy errors. County Executive Gordon Hintz says the meetings aim to explain spending priorities, oversight changes, and how the corrected levy and funding shifts affect taxpayers across different parts of the county.
