New historic signs will line Prescott's riverfront (piercecountyjournal.news) ā New historic and wayfinding signs are coming to Prescottās riverfront and parks after recent city council approval, including interpretive history panels and a refreshed downtown directory for boaters and visitors. The council also backed upgrades to the Magee Park Bike Skills Course, adding new beginner-to-advanced routes, a trail connection, and landscaping aimed at improving safety, maintenance, and overall park appeal.

2. Northwest Journey wants to expand Prescott program (piercecountyjournal.news) ā Prescott families may soon see expanded mental health day-treatment options as Northwest Journey asks the Prescott School Board to let its local program serve teens ages 14ā17 at its Malone Intermediate School site. Staff described rising referrals for suicidal or self-harming youth, outlined strict safety protocols, and said the proposal could return for board action in August, alongside updates on the new Riverās Edge Virtual Academy.

Everything to know ahead of the WBA playoffs (piercecountyjournal.news) ā Prescottās Pirates are playoff-bound, heading to the Chippewa Falls Regional after a strong 9ā5 league season that placed them fourth in an 11-team field. Theyāll open against Hayward at 1 p.m. Saturday in a three-team pool that also includes perennial power Tilden, with all seven Pierce County WBA teams chasing spots in their respective State Championship brackets.

James 'Jim' Lewis Dodge ā KDWA 1460 AM & FM 97.7 (kdwa.com) ā Longtime Prescott resident James āJimā Lewis Dodge, 74, has passed away, with services handled by OāConnell Family Funeral Home in Prescott. A 3M factory worker, devoted father and grandfather, and local musician known as āThe Reverend Dodge,ā he leaves a legacy of family-centered living and memorable performances across Prescott and the Twin Cities.
