• Rhinelander Curling Club women's team going back to nationals (rivernewsonline.com) — Rhinelander’s women’s team from the Rhinelander Curling Club has automatically qualified for the U.S. Curling Arena National Championships, again representing Wisconsin on the national stage. With three new curlers joining veteran skip Jean Rice, the squad is practicing in league play and hopes to enter a few bonspiels before heading to the November nationals in Texas.
   

• Student creativity shines in 15th annual Invasive Species Poster Contest (rivernewsonline.com) — Rhinelander students shined in this year’s Northwoods Invasive Species Poster Contest, with James Williams Middle School’s Charlotte Halada earning Best of Show and several classmates placing or winning slogan honors. You can see many of the winning posters, including local entries, on display at the Oneida County Courthouse through the end of June.
