• DNR: 700+ reports of dead deer in Washington, Waukesha Counties amid virus outbreak (wisn.com) — State wildlife officials say Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease has been confirmed in deer near Richfield and West Bend, part of more than 700 dead-deer reports in Washington and Waukesha counties. The midge-borne virus does not infect humans, but residents may see otherwise healthy-looking deer suddenly dead near water and are urged to recognize signs like excessive salivation and unusual tameness.
