• CVTC criminal justice student joins River Falls police (chippewa.com) — River Falls is welcoming a new, homegrown police officer as 20-year-old CVTC criminal justice student Destany Pedersen graduates from the college’s River Falls campus and steps directly into a badge with the River Falls Police Department. Her years of hands-on training, from Hudson Police cadets to intense CVTC simulations, have prepared her for patrol work and a future in specialized investigations or teaching. 
• Area athletes shine at New Richmond Stan Barr Relays (hudsonstarobserver.com) — River Falls boys and girls track athletes turned in strong performances at the Stan Barr Relays in New Richmond, including event wins by pole vaulters Blake Schneider and Kayla Hoeft and high jumper Abigail Treichel. Both Wildcats squads contributed multiple top-three finishes against a deep regional field, helping River Falls place third in boys team scoring and sixth in girls.
