MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee is in crisis.

And that's whether you look at the Milwaukee riots in August following the officer-involved shooting of Sylville Smith, or the rising tide of violence that appeared in 2015, or the recent news that August was the city's most violent month in 25 years.

Milwaukee police say that Milwaukee has seen a homicide rate of 4.0 homicides per 100,000 people in August. Chicago, meanwhile, has seen 3.3 homicides per 100,000 people over the same period. Although it's a lower rate when compared with Milwaukee, Chicago has seen 90 homicides to Milwaukee's 24 over that time period.

Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn is expected to deliver a press conference today at 4:30 p.m. to report on the matter. FOX 6 is planning to live stream broadcast the press conference: http://fox6now.com/2016/09/01/...
