Unruly Music

Unruly Music explores contemporary trends in chamber music, improvisation, electronic sound, and multimedia, spanning a wide variety of genres and styles. Directed by composer Christopher Burns, Unruly Music is a co-production of the Peck School of the Arts at UWM and the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts.


Thursday, October 18:
Soprano Jamie Jordan presents a recital of works for voice and live electronics, featuring Kaija Saariaho's "Lonh", and a new piece by Wisconsin-based composer Andrew Seager Cole.


Friday, October 19:
Sarah Plum performs an evening of solo works and chamber music for violin, highlighting the music of Sidney Corbett, as well as Matthew Burtner's (dis)Appearances for violin, electric violin, and computer violin.

Saturday, October 20:
The Spektral Quartet presents George Crumb's gripping anti-war statement "Black Angels", plus recent string quartets by Thomas Ades and Hans Thomalla.
