Ribbon-Cutting to Open Kern Park Picnic Shelter

Just in time for the busy summer season, the new Picnic Area offers restrooms and a rentable open-air shelter with electricity.

MILWAUKEE, WI – Officials will open a new picnic shelter building, June 21, in a ribbon-cutting ceremony from 3–4 p.m. at Kern Park, 3614 N. Humboldt Blvd.

Just in time for the busy summer season, the new Picnic Area offers restrooms and a rentable open-air shelter with electricity. The facility meets ADA guidelines for accessibility. Picnic Area #3 may be reserved for groups of up to 50 people. The rental includes the shelter with limited electricity and picnic tables.

“This new picnic shelter offers the community a place to gather with family and friends to enjoy Kern Park.” Supervisor Johnson said. “This improvement not only enhances the park, but also the neighborhood surrounding it.”
