• Dog shot by officer improving (gmtoday.com) — A former Thiensville police officer is under investigation after an April incident where two loose dogs were shot near the Mequon–Thiensville border, killing one and badly injuring the other. The surviving dog, now called Ranger, is recovering at the Wisconsin Humane Society’s Ozaukee campus, while local advocates push area police departments, including Thiensville’s, to adopt better training on handling fearful dogs.
